Special-purpose machinery construction – Bolting systems

Prior to the order being placed, Plarad carries out free project-specific consultations and prepares a project outline, requirements specification and functional specification as the basis for concept development and quotation preparation. Once the order has been placed, structured milestones are defined for design, electrical planning and software development, including a design freeze, divided into mechanical engineering, control concept, user interface and operating concept.

Plarad develops and supplies customised bolting systems for a torque range from
500 Nm. The range of services extends from supplementary auxiliary devices for our
standard products to fully automated bolting systems.

Before placing an order

  • Individual, personalised project-related consultations with the client.
  • Drafting of the project outline – The project outline summarises all relevant information, including details from emails, telephone calls, meeting notes, etc.
  • Creation of the requirements specification with the client
  • Based on the requirements specification and the project outline, a functional specification is drawn up, which describes in more concrete terms how the requirements will be met.
  • Concept development and consultation with the client, taking into account the client’s technical and economic requirements.
  • Concept presentation and discussion with the client

After the order has been placed

Plarad sets appropriate milestones for coordination, at which the client provides detailed approval for the electrical design and software development, including the respective design freeze.

Autonomous screwdriving robot

Plarad has developed a mobile platform for and in collaboration with Broetje Automation, featuring a Comau NJ-165-3.0 robotic arm and the Plarad end-effector.
The system handles loads of up to 165 kg, offers omnidirectional movements at speeds of up to 1.4 m/s and uses laser scanners for autonomous control. Tools such as tensioners or torque wrenches can be easily attached to the end-effector. The modular design improves automation processes and serves as a vehicle for innovation.

Torque testing system for rotary slide valves

Torque and angle testing device up to 500,000 Nm. Torque testing of valves is an essential test procedure to ensure the high quality standards of ball valves. Checking and measuring the torque during the rotation of the ball valve makes it possible to detect faults and confirm the correct functioning of the ball valve. All manufacturers supplying ball valves in accordance with API and ANSI standards must carry out these tests. Torque tests can be performed on the valve’s main shaft (direct drive version) or on the actuator (gear drive version).

Lifting and handling device for clamping cylinders

The HV1power is an innovative lifting device made from high-quality aluminium, specially developed for the ergonomic and safe handling of tensioners. Thanks to its low weight and smooth-running guide, it enables quick and efficient movement from one screw connection to the next, even in hard-to-reach work areas. The customisable design offers maximum flexibility for a wide range of customer requirements whilst significantly reducing the workload for operating personnel.
